New Toys!

Bee coz I...had half an hour to kill after Zumba, we went and checked out the new toys in the gym!

They are walkers and cross trainers that have tv, Internet, music and all sorts!

Best of all you can do walks in national parks all over the world!!! Right up my ally!

Just don't accidentally keep pressing the elevation plus button on the handle as it gets really hard.

Oral fixations

Bee coz...I clearly had some kind of oral fixation as a child that still lingers there a bit (it's a phase all babies go through) I look at this picture and I can tell you (at the risk of making myself sound any crazier than I am) what it would taste and feel like to lick the glass bottle. Go ahead and laugh!

I know it's odd but I used to like to lick glass as a child as well as shiny metal and the texture of towels, i knew it was odd so as i got older i remember trying not to let people see me do it, don't know how successful I was at that!

My favorite thing in the world to lick was a glass clown that my mum had, it was awesome, it had a smooth body and little bumps for the nose, eyes and buttons!

One day I was watching the Bill and saw the same clown on one of the sets and I knew I had seen one before but couldn't remember where i knew I loved it and what tasted like so I messaged my mum to ask if we had one when I was little. I can't remember if she knew I used to lick it or not! Probably did as she would have to clean it!

The worst thing is everything in my house was clean but not so much out side my house - that's the bit that makes me cringe now!

I can tell you the texture and taste of a telephone boxes, bus stop poles, hand rails, cars (new v's old), the metal corners on the seats of a double decker bus (note don't lick the ones up stairs they taste of tobacco) to name a few, but the best things to lick were the rails on the outside deck of the Isle of Man boats - they were so salty! The deck however tasted of petrol!

To this day the site of a rail, nice piece of coloured glass or a fresh towel still makes my mouth water but at least I don't need to lick them anymore :)

Just another small insight in to my wacky world.

Great Balls!

Bee coz I....went out to lunch at work I tried to pick a meal that would not wreck my week, I settled on this chicken meat balls with basil and tomato sauce.

I ordered entrée size and it was smaller than it looked, the bread was the size of my palm. It was filling and just enough.

After lunch I had a nice walk to a meeting only 2.1km but every bit counts!

I had a great run in the morning and felt good when I chose to run the walk parts of the couch to 5k program.

To end the day Jane and I pumped out a 4.5km weekly walk going further than last week as we were enjoying the unseasonably(that word looks wrong?) warm night!

Spring is almost here!

Bee coz I...like cold weather or hot weather the time of the year that confuses me most is spring, simply because you can got out dressed like Scott of the Antarctic and then boil or you can under dress then it will be freezing! A bit to unpredictable if you ask me!

I do however love the longer days! I was up the hill for a walk at 9am this morning, it was a great day for it! And now I have washed all the mud off and look almost human!

Back on track!

Bee coz I...feel much better now (except for the itching) I'm eating better and walking faster.

I nearly killed poor Jane on our walk the other night. Jane is making a great come back from some nasty health issues and with out thinking I marched at hyper pace (high on anti histamines) up our big hill with out thinking, like a trooper Jane kept up although she couldn't talk - oops! We did take 10mins off our time from the week before!

Worked 12 hrs yesterday, it was a really enjoyable day but missed Zumba, did a few up and down the stairs at work to keep moving.

We have the 10,000step challenge coming up in work next month and I have made a killer team up, aiming for 2nd place this year!

Why I shouldn't eat eggplant!

Bee coz I...unknowingly ate some eggplant I had to leave work early today. I have gradually become more intolerant of it each time I eat it. I ate the tiniest bit by accident and instantly ulcers in my mouth, tongue felt funny, tingling lips and itchy eyes.

I popped a double does of anti histamine (which is what the dr advised if I ate pineapple - my long time allergy) and headed home in case my eyes swelled shut (happens when I have orange or too much iodized salt)

By the time I got home I was just blotchy and very itchy and on closer inspection by the chemist the ulcers were in fact my taste buds swelling (who knew) my left ear was also bright red, my body was covered in itchy rashes.

I had a cold shower and lots of water, enjoyed a walk in the freezing cold and tried not to scratch (limited success) then crashed at 9am until 4.30am!

Mental note: I should no longer eat eggplant!

Back on track - ish!

Bee coz I...have upped my exercise and curbed my not good choices, I feel I have my mojo back!

Pounding up my favorite hills for the first time in about 5 months (I stopped going when I bumped in to the camera crew filming deadly snakes) I felt alive, my lungs did well but my thighs burned.

I'm going to alternate between the hill I got lost on and my favorite every weekend. I do my hill walks alone - it's my recharge time!

I braved the scales I am back to 31kg loss which is a set back as I had been sitting around the 35kg mark for ages then slipped! I'm not going to blame the steroids, I put the food in my mouth! I'm not even worried as I have my mojo back and the longer days are here! I'm giving myself 4 weeks to get back to 35kg loss.

If you wonder why I chose to look at the loss rather than the gain its more positive in my mind as I have still lost the 31kgs that's a whole heap less to carry around every minute of every day! 37.5kg loss was my best and I will get back there! I'm still aiming for the 40!

Well I had better go to work!

Soup glorious soup.

Bee coz I...have a vegetarian in the house one of the easiest things I can cook that does for a few days is veggie soup!

I just make a simple stock and bung in broccoli, carrot, mushroom, potato, spring onion and at the last minute I bung in some vermicelli noodles to bulk it out!

I also marinaded some chicken pieces and cooked them up for my serve of the soup - delish!

Well the car still stinks of soup so I'm still shampooing and vacuuming every second day to try and get rid of the smell!

Tonight I will make leek and potato soup - just because I forgot to put it in my veggie soup :)

Atmosphere

Bee coz I...like to take pictures of just about anything and everything, my iPhone is full of happy snaps. I like to try and capture the atmosphere of the occasion, which isn't always easy.

I don't worry to much about good composition when I'm happy snapping more I go for the take lots one will work out theory.

This compilation of pics sums up a night of awesomeness I had at the recent Liverpool FC V's Melbourne Victory match during the week. I was out well past my bedtime and felt tired for the rest of the week but it was 1000% worth it.

My family have been over from Tassie so on reflection I have eaten a ton of crap and missed the odd walk.

Zumba was awesome this week, Saturday morning classes are the highlight of my week, even though I go out late on a Friday, I don't mind getting up early for one of Claire's classes.

Well I best go and get dressed as the kiddo's will be landing soon for a few hours of fun and madness.

One of those days!

Bee coz I...had to slam my breaks on to avoid killing some kid, I was the proud owner of an in car soup pool all before 8.15am.

The luck didn't stop there, between meeting I tried to vacuum it out at the wet/dry vacuums you find at the car wash places, no luck at morning break, my money was not good enough for the machine. At lunch I went to another one and its been shut down! Finally I left work early and found a place close to home that did the job! Then my car wouldn't start!

I got it going then drove to Rods who tightened my bits (the things around the battery) and all seems to be good, then I went home and pumped up the flatty on the other car, I think they are all sorted now!

I was glad to jump in bed at the end of the day!

Auroralicious!

Bee coz I...have sent off for my new passport, have been medication free for 2 weeks, it's time to get back on track!

I'm to scared to step on the scales, I'm guessing by my pants (the ones that have no give in them) that I am still around the 32-33kg loss range, the pants that I wore when I had lost 30kg are still loose around the waist! So unless its all gone on my feet, or head the damage bill may not be to bad! I want to get at least to the 37.5kg loss that I was up to by the time I go on my trip in October.

I had an awesome time in Tassie, lots of time with the family and Mother Nature put on a fabulous Aurora display for us to go capture.

My brother loaned me his camera and gave me instructions over the phone on how to use it in the pitch black! My dad helped on site and mum was the lighting director (with her book light)

The first night was fun, I got my first ever aurora photo. The second night (I had learned how to use the camera better) Mother Nature ramped it up to a whole new level and put on a fine display!

This is my best pic! It looks very different in real life, in some ways more spectacular than this as although the colours are more pastel/opaque to the naked eye the movement/dancing across the sky is breath taking!

The camera shutter is open for longer so it picks up more light/colour. It is so exciting taking the pic then waiting 30 seconds to see it in the back if the camera!

I will never forget that second night!

My brother has given me an old camera body and I have a new lens to see if I can start taking some better pic than I do with my trusty iPhone!

Well I had best be off as I need to find my runners if I'm going to shift these kilos! I will give myself a week before I venture on to the scales lol

Frosty weather

Bee coz I...am still in bed safely under the covers I can't bring myself to go out in the cold for a walk! Lucky I have Zumba tonight so I can justify staying put.

I was flicking through my photos trying to find one for my post, something became apparent - I need a hair cut! It will have to wait a few days as I'm off to Tassie at the end of the week for some time out.

Things have been very busy on all fronts and I worked out that I was not home - other than to sleep for about 10 days, no wonder I'm tired lol Tassie always charges my batteries. Might even get to see some snow!

Well I have nothing else to report other than I'm addicted to a new TV show called The Time Of Our Lives on ABC!

The Lake

Bee coz I....have been sick again - silly lungs, I have been taking it easy, I've maintained but not lost so looks like my 1st July goal will be missed, or rather postponed to the 1st August.

I still can't do a full on Zumba but at least I still keep turning up.

The Lake has been my best friend, I have been doing it on the weekends, yesterday I did it twice, once in daylight the other by moonlight. I've never done the lake in the dark, it was beautiful.

I slept like a log when I got home.

1st of July?

Bee coz I...have had another bout of lung and chest ill health I have been unable to do much on the exercise front. I have done a few walks and after almost 3 weeks off I have just gone back to Zumba. I'm not back to 100% that will take a couple of weeks but I'm back at exercise.

This time I stopped and looked after myself so it won't drag out over 6 months like last time. I kept warm, dry and gave in and took the nasty drugs!

The down side is that I put on 2kg in 3 weeks after maintaining for so long! The upside is I know what to do about it - pull in the belt, knuckle down and set a new goal!

I'm now back at 7kg to get to the 40kg loss goal which the closest I've been to was 3kg to go(I think?) so my short term goal is 2kg by 1 June 13 and then 7kg by my trip to the UK!

This tiger (or pink striped Zebra) is back!

Count down is on!

Bee coz I...have only hours to go now until my fun power walk! I have been resting up today, although I did lots of incidental walking. My lungs are still not 100% but the snot factory has reduced production so that's a win! I have some ace plasters for my blister so I'm set to go!

I'm going to bed early too as I have to be at the train station for 6.45am, billy cooked me dinner too so that was a bonus!

Well I had better go iron my Tshirt and attach my race tag (GPS tracker) to my walking shoes - I just have to decide if I'm walking in my walking shoes or runners! Still can't make my mind up!

5 days to go!

Bee coz I...only have 5 days until my big power walk, my body has clearly decided that it likes to be sick for the run/walk for the kids events!

At least it's only a head cold at this stage. I went back on my chest meds a few days ago and touch wood congestion on my chest clears up with out turning into something nasty.

This time last year I was on crazy meds as i had pneumonia so I'm not complaining!

New job is going well I can tell I'm going to love it!

I have our group training today so not sure how I will go and I have to make sure I will recover in time for my walk lol

12 days to go!

Bee coz I...after 12 1/2 years in the youth team secured a new position at work in the community development team I have been busier than busy finishing up my position. I start my new job today!

I'm not sure where the days are going but I do know its only 12 days to my big fun walk, how did that happen?

It's been hard training as the heat has been relentless, my goal of doing 15km each weekend has been compromised, I have been doing 3 X 5km walks as the heat has been above 36oC all weekend, in fact all week! We are melting!

I'm doing another fun walk the weekend after too, it's a fundraiser for the area I did the walk last post. So it's a 2hr drive to get there but it will be worth it.

Well must go as I have to look smart at work now, yikes I may have to spend more than 5mins a day on my beauty routine.

25 Days to go!

Bee coz I....go red (artistic license used on photo) when I exercise I often look burnt, it takes about 40mins to go fully back to normal.

Sometimes I also look silly when I exercise, like the hat I made with my running top on sunday to keep me cool! I left the arms down to swat the flies and the knot at the front doubled as a peek! I know I'm a genius (hmm maybe not it took a while for me to remember how to spell that)

Today I felt I looked silly doing burpies (spell check wanted to change that to but pies) in the gym, we were flogged at a work personal training session. It was harrowing!

My legs held up but my arms were like jelly, I knew I was in trouble when I couldn't open the change room door, then in the shower I thought "there should be a disabled shower seat in here" and then when I couldn't eat my lunch for an hour as I knew I would spew!

Sure - I'll be back next week for more!

27 days to go...

Bee coz I...went visiting friends at the coast, I left a little early and factored in time for a couple of walks, the first walk was a breeze, a bimble along the beach with a cool sea breeze, the second was much harder as it was 34oC and there were March flies attacking me, it's the first time I have struggled a bit to finish a walk it was a good challenge.

They have a fun run down here in a few weeks so I might come down for that :)

I really enjoyed my weekend and it was just what I needed to set me up for a busy week.

28 Days to go!

Bee coz I...spent the day out at a farm about 2 1/2 hrs away, I only had time for Zumba today.

I ignored the washing, lawns and shopping to go with a friend to check out a camper bus that she might be buying. It was a great day, I was lucky to meet a couple called Howard and Dawn, Howard is well into his 80's and is as sharp as a tack and fit as a fiddle. We enjoyed a good chat, afternoon tea and headed off. Don't think my friend is going to buy the bus, it was a bit past its useby date :)

The dog (Leo) has had me up two nights in a row at 4.30 am with his barking, he had better be tired tonight or he is in big trouble!!!

I've got another big trip tomorrow down to visit a friend at waratah bay then of to visit Tarwin Lower, so I guess I should go to bed! Nighty night x x Bee x x

31 days to go!

Bee coz I...am under the pump (in a good way) at work at the moment I am making sure I don't give into the urge to buy yummy food for lunch. Lucky for me I LOVE baked beans on toast!

Tried out some veggie sausages tonight - not bad but I think I prefer real sausages!

Did Zumba tonight, a few more tracks were thrown in just to confuse us, but it was still fun!

Bee coz I...am addicted to my iPad and I love a good app, I found one that is a great count down for my run for the kids event! It's great, I can't remember what it's called, I will let you know tomorrow!

Don't faint - I just felt like posting!

Bee coz I...was totally over the blog, I let it slide, I couldn't even look at it!

I don't know why today of all days I decided to post. Maybe it's because I have signed up to walk 15km charity even at the end of march.

My training plan is to walk 15-20km each weekend, this can be done in one big walk or 2-3 smaller ones. I have been experimenting and my hike shoes are 100% more comfortable than my runners but I can't jog in them, so the decision has to be made, to run bits or not to run! I will make my decision over the next few weeks.

It's been very hot here which makes it hard to walk, I may have to ban myself when the weather gets over 32oC as I got a bit light headed on my last walk.

Well I am also still carrying the 2.5kg that I put back on so my goal is to drop that before the walk. I'm on day 4 of my old eating plan and its going good. I eat a big breakfast and lunch and a small dinner and that works for me so I will stick to it.

A few things naughty..but nice!

Bee coz I... Am still on my hols and working with the be good at home and limit treats, I did we'll yesterday but today I had an ice-cream and a few taste of Tassie tempura mushrooms and 6 potato chips. So I did limit it a bit lol.

Did about a 3km walk around the botanical gardens and will head out shortly for another walk.

I had a nice walk yesterday which would have been even nicer if I had put my undies on the correct way around! I was in a hurry and payed the price :)

HaPpY nEw YeAr 2013

Bee coz I...ate what ever I wanted over Christmas and because I can now say that I am going on a big holiday in October, today was the day to start cutting back!

I'm in Tassie with the family and have be very active, walking, snorkeling, jogging and kayaking. I know there will be damage and I'm prepared to work it all off again. I will let you know what the damage is when I get back to my own and the gym scales.

I will be great with every meal I have in the house while i am here and will limit myself when eating out. Then when I get home I will be cut throat (not literally) about my food!

In an attempt to make things easier I will post pics of the food I eat in a day like this. The only other thing I ate was a few handfuls of popcorn as we went to the movies to see the Hobbit - great flick!
