Feeling a bit fruity!

Bee coz I...was getting regular stomach aches i had to back off from fruit for ages as I am allergic to some fruits and if my stomach is not quite right it does not deal well with fruit. The impact of all the medication I was on in the first half of the year has finally warn off. So fruit is back on the menu - just in time for summer! Woo hoo

These bad boy strawberries were as big as the apricots next to them, they were delish.

In other news the cheeky 1.2kg has jogged off (maybe literally) as I have started training for my annual fun run. So back to sitting on my 35kg loss (which I have maintained for 1 1/2 years lol) I have moved my goal posts of wanting to drop another 5kg by Christmas to by the end of Jan, it's a little more realistic now and a have a few weeks off over Christmas so if I don't go too silly over the silly season, I'm in with a shot!

Well my alarm is yelling at me so I had better get out of bed and into the shower - see you round peeps.

Tis the season!

Bee coz I...have had a super busy (almost wrote busty) weekend I will attempt to sum it all up in one post.

After two busy (very hot) planning days at work I came in to the weekend a little pooped.

Here is how the weekend went...
Friday night I went to Connie's to watch a move, then bed.

Saturday 1st December (decoration day) I did a bit of housework then decked the halls etc, proud of my efforts. Had two visitors throughout the morning, dropped Billy off at the pool then picked him up again. Raced over to pick Tracy, Jorja and Tarsh up for Carols by Candlelight in the park. Jorja wasn't well, it started to lash down so I took them back home, just in the nick of time as Jorja was sick everywhere. Raced home to change and back out to the carols and fireworks, it was a great night, then bed!

Sunday, started training for my fun run, just building back up slowly so I don't hurt my foot! Bit more housework, another visitor, shopping, washing, then I had a cookathon, then bed!

Phew, I should have mowed the front lawn but I will do that tonight.

Smaller plates.

Bee coz I....use dinner plates that are 1950's size, it does not take much to fill a plate. A full plate makes us feel satisfied but really it's a much smaller portion.

After a busy day at work I was looking for a low effort dinner so I cheated and picked up some sliced roast beef and made mushroom and onion gravy (low salt, no trans fat) then filled the plate with corn, peas and brussel sprouts I timed it and it only took 15mins to put it together. While gravy is not great the whole meal is still better than take away.

I couldn't do Zumba last night as my neck is still stiff, although it has definitely loosened up over night so should be good for Wednesday.

I spent the evening planning my Christmas decorations. I like to get them up on the 1st dec. I'm not doing much and only doing inside the house this year. Which is more than I have done for the last few years.

Hope you all have a good day

Back on track

Bee coz I...ate one very very very bad meal yesterday, I made sure I was much more on track today.

Woke up with a stiff neck, probably from Billy's driving lesson yesterday.

Spent the morning walking around the Healsville craft market, it was great, good quality crafts not to bad prices and lots of yummy food options.

Came home and did a couple of chores then headed out for a walk with Connie. The weather was perfect.

Now I just have to finish the vacuuming and I think I will have an early night.

A day at the races

Bee coz I...decided to take my son Billy on a driving lesson, we ended up at the races.

Billy's dad Rod races this car and we decided to go see him do a few laps. It was a great day out, Billy got us there and back safely, Rod pumped out a few laps (until he blew a head gasket) and we had a very indulgent lunch overlooking the sea.

Wait until you read what I ate! - it was so good but so bad!

Doing ok

Bee coz I...had scale shock the other day it has been much easier sticking to my eating healthy plan, although I have missed out on Zumba as I had a dinner to go to and didn't get my walk in last night as I was to busy playing with the kids, I have done ok on the food front!
I can make up the exercise - that's the easy bit for me.

Lucky I had pea wack in the freezer so I have been filling up on that and weetbix. I have a nice lunch planned today and I am going back through my old posts for forgotten favorites. That 1.2kg will be gone in no time :)

Well I had better race or I will be late for work - bye for now Bee x x

Wrong way go back!

Bee coz I...wasn't going to step on the scales until Xmas in an attempt to be cautious with my eating to break the happy to maintain cycle and shift some numbers, I noticed that my healthy eating went from 90% on track down to 75%. It's clear I need to bring back accountability as I had gained 1.2kg back on!

My weight does fluctuate by 1kg anyway but the point was to lose not gain or at best maintain. I could make excuses, injuries, visitors, crazy time in work but non of that cuts it with me as its my hand that puts food in my mouth and my hands are fine! Excuses are the biggest barrier to weight loss!

So it's back to weekly weigh ins and me writing what I eat on here! It stops me putting rubbish in my mouth if I have to write it here!

Even if its only to put up my food intake My plan is to post daily.

Stay tuned!

Self Control...

Bee coz I...have spent the last 4 weekends gadding about (Tassie, hiking, Geelong and Tassie again) I felt the need to have a stay home weekend. The bonus of that is having the time to cook!

I shall be making one of my all time favorites - broccoli, leek and bacon soup, sounds odd but don't knock it until you try it!

I went back to Zumba today as the fractures in my foot and tissue damage have mended, for the first time in 12 weeks my foot was not killing me!

After Zumba I shopped, I made the fatal mistake of shopping on an empty stomach and had to ban myself from certain parts of the supermarket so I didn't buy any junk! I felt very self righteous at the check out when I unloaded my healthy goodies onto the belt. I imagined the person next to me was thinking - good healthy choices there as she stood there with 16lts of coke and a block of chocolate (peppermint aero)

Had lunch then did the front lawns, back garden is just too wet! Then did nothing for the rest of the day - bliss

Tomorrow I'm going to ikea to see what Christmas stuff they have in stock!

Walk/ride to work day 2012

Bee coz I...like to walk and don't like to ride, I took advantage of my new expensive hike sock (to ashamed to tell you how much they cost) and walked to work yesterday.

It was a nice walk with a few hair raising moments, mostly when the path ran out and I had to walk down the medium strip on a very busy rd.

Just as the sun was coming up I decided to hit the bike track (I stuck to the main rd while it was dark) it was like a trip down memory lane, past our old house and the way I walked to school, places I hung out at high school - it was nice. Then I hit a new section where I had never walked before. Then I joined the road I usually walk to work on.

I was glad to be in meetings most of the day as my legs had had enough. I can feel that I pushed my sore foot a bit but no new blisters with the new socks, might invest in one more pair with the voucher I won for walking the biggest distance to work.

I'm off to Tassie again tomorrow for my friend Bel's 40th birthday weekend and my nephew Alex's birthday too! I will be eating some naughty stuff there so will spend the next week atoning for my caloric sins.

Well must go as I'm still in bed and my bladder is about to burst!

Bye for now Bee

Stuck in traffic

Bee coz I...and some colleagues (i know thats bad english) are running a professional development day in a couple of weeks, we went out to scope the venue and got stuck in a traffic jam of ducks, they waddled up the middle of the road until they decided they were at the right spot the headed for the grass.

The dad had to wait for the little duckling that clearly had oppositional defiance disorder and wanted to just run around, I imagined the other ducklings thinking - here we go again Charlie's off on one!

In other news my foot is coming good and I made it through a gentler version of Zumba, no spinning in the balls of my feet - until the blisters have gone lol

Tried out a new recipe too it was the biggest losers tuna bake, easy to do and from the little bit Billy and I tried it was delish so dinner is organized for the next two nights :)

Busy day in work coming up so I must get ready - have a good one peeps x

Blisters on blisters on blisters!

Bee coz I...have a very sore foot and lots of blisters three weeks worth to be exact (the biggest is from Saturday) I missed out on boxing and Zumba tonight.

Good news it the step challenge is over so it does not matter!

I also purchased some new liners for my hike shoes as I have flattened the cushion support with too much walking.

I'm looking forward to a night away next weekend for a friends birthday down in Geelong, I plan to have a well earned shandy then!

Well I'm off to bed to watch midwives on iview love that show!

Still trucking!

Bee coz I...am overly obsessed with this bloody work challenge, I'm exercising like mad, it's killing me but its almost over.

I have been eating yummy mostly healthy food but last night did have take away roast chicken and 2 roast potatoes plus tabouli, a little girl packed the tabouli and did so well that I have 3 days worth - bonus

Did a big walk yesterday and my brave friend joined me for part of the walk - it was peeing down! It was a long trip back after saying bye to my friend as I hurt my foot. Had it all checked out and it's fine!

That's about it for me - I'm going to the pool later for some R&R - I need it!

Bee coz I....have knuckled down food wise I have been digging out some of my old fav's - like this chili prawn salad, it's funny to go back and see some of the old fav's from the early days of the blog.

I'm still trying my best to clock up steps for the step challenge in work, I'm off to the gym shortly for a work out!

Planning a big walk on the weekend and I'm hoping to catch a movie ( I might have to do star jumps during the movie to keep my steps up)

10000 step challenge

Bee coz I...am having to ramp up my efforts for the 10000 step challenge in work, I used every minute of my day purposefully.

I got up a 6.30 for a quick walk around the block, I walked in my lunch hour then raced home to do Zumba and boxing, calling in at the supermarket to shop on the way home to clock up a few extra steps.

Food wise I went well today and enjoyed one jelly snake before boxing to up my sugar levels a bit.

Boxing was ace - so was Zumba.

Now I'm home and in bed laying in the recover position - knackered!

Missing in Action

Bee coz I...needed a break from blogging I took one. A few people sent me messages to say they missed the blog and the motivation. My response to them was that they had the motivation already in them, if they didn't they wouldn't even be reading the blog.

My words are simply for ideas and encouragement and self accountability, the motivation has to come for yourself - that's what makes your efforts sustainable!

Well it's the 1st October that means tomorrow marks 2 years since I started my health kick, the last year has been purely maintenance, lose 2kg - gain 2kg etc and I still have 5kg to go to get to my next goal. They say 70% of people put it all back on within 2 years but I have kept 35kg off for that time, I feel confident that they are gone for good - guess I'm in the 30%

I am going to shake things up a bit and be more healthy than balanced for the lead up to Christmas to get some kgs off to make room for my Christmas dinner and Taste of Tasmania - but to do this I am going to commit to not stepping on the scales until Christmas Eve - why? Because I have become to comfortable maintaining. The element of the unknown will keep me on my toes!

Knackered

Bee coz I...am the leader of our 10,000 step challenge in work where all participants aim to walk or exercise to the equivalent of 10,000 steps every day for 4 weeks, I feel I have to set a high standard.

Trouble with that is that my level of motivation often outdoes my bodies abilities and I feel like an 80year old woman the next day!

After a 4km run on sat I did Zumba, Sunday I did a big walk 22km, on the way home by body said "great down to the valley and I'm done" my brain said " I'm half way up the hills I may as well go up and over then down to the car" result - I'm stuffed. Yesterday was boxing and Zumba.

Today is nothing! I'll just make sure I get to my 10,000 steps and that's it! Unless I go to a stretch and recovery class!

Well I'm off to work now and I have no idea what I'm going to wear - best look up the weather app for a clue!

My body is still recovering from the killer boxing sesh but hopefully Zumba tonight will loosen me up, it's boxing again at 6am do I'm really hoping so!

Less frizz more curls

Bee coz I...have welcomed a new product into my life, I now have less frizz and more curl in my hair!

Moroccan all - where have you been all my life?

In other news, I'm back, I just needed a break from blogging as it was feeling same old same old.

I really enjoyed my time with the kiddies but put 1 kg back on - eating biscuits! It's probably already gone after last night boxing/Zumba double - boy was that difficult last night!

I started my training to get to 10km running/jogging on Sunday and finally broke in my new running shoes then followed it up with a hill walk in the sunshine- awesome for body and soul!

The shiatsu I had on Friday is a distant memory as I lay here aching from my little toe to my ears! No pain no gain and all that!

Too busy to blog

Bee coz I...have 20 extra fingers and toes at home at the moment I have been having far to much fun to be blogging!

Jorja (3) and Max (very close to 1) have come to party for a few days, I knew the first two days would be the busiest as I still had to work and a couple of extra curve balls were chucked at us so we got even busier, but we have pulled through the busy bit with flying colours and are on holidays now do the pressure is off - party time!

The kids are doing great, Max likes a cheeky feed in the middle of the night but I'm happy with only one get up and we are down to 15mins till back in bed, these kids are unbelievable at going to bed! Jorja asks to go and one quick song and she says goodnight until the morning. Max has a cuddle a few rocks and off to the land of nod!

I just hope their mum and dad are enjoying a few nights of unbroken sleep and sunshine on their holidays!

Not sure what we will get up to today, maybe a little trip to the park if the weather gets better and some chillaxing - stay tuned, I'll fill you in when I get a chance

Free salt water facials

Bee coz I...went to the peninsular with my friend Rosie, I scored a free facial - how? Well we just got out the car at one of the surf beaches and it was so windy and wet that the sand and salty water blowing in off the see and sand blasted our faces!

We did manage to squeeze in a sunny walk along one of the bay beaches but that was it for the sunshine. We even went up to Arthur's Seat to look over the bay but all we could see was mist/fog.

We had lots of laughs and a very delicious pie for lunch so the day was deemed a great success - Bee

Mt Morton

Bee coz I...love my hill walk so much, I did some research, it's called Mt Morton. I knew some of the history of the place from my dad.

Because of the hills it's a better workout than the lake but I still love the lake more.

My thighs are a bit sore from the hill walk and now my gluteus Maximus are sore from boxing, who would have thought you used the butt muscles for boxing!

Zumba was great as always, I lasted the whole class before my legs stopped cooperating so I'm getting fitter.

Off to work now so bye bye - bee x x

Top of the hill

Bee coz I....kicked off the weekend with Zumba then a bimble around Birdsland with Tracy,Tarsh and the kids, I had a relaxing saturday afternoon just pottering around. Saturday night I went to Connie's and we had a catchup which was nice.

Sunday morning I was off early for a bit off hill work, it was raining - I had water pouring down my face and my waterproof shoes were being tested to the max in the mud.

The sun came out briefly when I was at the very top of the hill, I was glad about that because it was a nice view, then I dropped back into the mist as I headed back down.

Sunday afternoon was spent watching a few shows on iview then getting organized for the week then I had a spa - it was nice just stopping for a while.

Now I'm in bed watching the closing ceremony, I'm glad the Olympics are over, I can start sleeping in again.

Boxing and Zumba tonight then an early night!

A couple of days away

Bee coz I...just had a couple of days away in Tassie visiting with my beautiful family (and doing some tourist things) this will be a combo post to cover the last 3 days...

Tues was a busy morning at work followed by a sesh at the eyebrow waxers, the hairdressers then the supermarket. Mucker C came over to save having to go pick him up at the crack of dawn for our flight to Tassie the morning.
B:steel cut oats
L:small piece of grilled flake, veggie burger
D:3 steamed dim sims and sauce

Wednesday - got up early, went to the airport in peek hour, lucky I had a wingman who knew a better way around the city we got there in 1 hr 15 mins. The only traffic jam we got stuck in was on the runway we say for 1 hr waiting for 14 planes to take off and about 8 to land due to wild winds.

Bumped our way to Tassie and then met up with my brother for lunch at the Richmond Pub (wait till you see my food intake for the next two days )

We headed up to Mt Wellington - it was freezing with a wind chill factor that rendered me speechless (literally)

Then back home and out to the midway tavern for dinner.

B:coffee
L:chips and gravy and a few of my brothers nachos and lots of water.
D:ham steak and veggies and 2 strongbow

Thurs
Up early - mostly because I forgot to turn off my alarm for boxing (5.30am - oops - sorry Mucker C)

Got up handy and headed off to Port Arthur via my favorite bakery in the world.

Had a great time pottering around until the weather came in and threw everything at us. We had seen everything we wanted to do we headed back via two pubs - cheers

Quick dinner then off to the airport for a even bumpier flight back, then it was literally home and bed - do not pass Go do not collect $200.

B:1 party pie (small bite size pie) and a party sausage roll and coffee
L:vegetarian pizza with not much cheese and water
D:chicken and salad.

I've just had a good nights sleep and it's off to work today followed by a shiatsu massage this afternoon and maybe out to see my friend sing at the pub tonight - if I am still awake - busy days Bee x x

Sunday Roast

Bee coz I.... Needed a good veggie fix, I put beef in the slow cooker and went for a walk around the lake with a friend Rosie.

The afternoon was spent doing some house work until I gave up.

Made my roast a little healthier by only using spray olive oil on the veggies and leaving all the skin on. It was delish - even with the low salt gravy.

Monday was another great day in work - caught up on my paperwork that always feels good!

Then the highlight of my day...boxing and Zumba. The funniest part was when the instructor called my name out and asked my fav punch and I said upper cut, she said no pick another one so I said jab, she said no, so I said what do you want me to pick? Hook! (least fav) the she told everyone I had chosen for us all to do 50 hooks 10 sit-ups x 10! Way to make someone else look like the bad guy lol!

Zumba was ace and my mate Bec is back - woo hoo

Well must go as I have to see if I can walk this morning! Ouch!

Top of the hill!

Bee coz I...decided to get a bit of hill work in yesterday (just walking), I was surprised by three things...

1. My lungs and fitness are increasing - I got up a hill that I normally allow myself to have three stops on without stopping.
2. My new hike shoes really are waterproof - they just don't look like they are - I was forced to paddle on a few occasions as the track was really boggy on the decline.
3. I got lost! It's only a small area but the signs are not clear and some must have been burned in the last bush fires, it was my first time going up that track and I got totally disorientated, my phone battery was low too so i couldn't look at my gps!

I really enjoyed the walk and it was a good challenge, it was also nice to have the sun on me as I was peeling off the layers (thermals and t-shirt) and ended up in my singlet.

I'm off round the big lake this morning with a new victim, I just hope the weather holds out again today.

I'm a broccoli farmer!

Bee coz I....am still trying to grow the slowest growing broccoli in the southern hemisphere, I don't know whether this is all that happens or do i leave it and it will grow more? I have no idea. (mum make dad read this post and let me know)

In other more exciting news it's only a few sleeps until I go to Tassie for 2 days and 1 night - bit of a whirlwind visit to take a friend to see Port Arthur in the daylight.

Plenty of walks to get in this weekend, and off to Zumba shortly, my body pulled up much better after boxing this week so I think my muscles are waking up.

My knee is on the mend so I may start my running plan this week too even if it will be slightly interrupted by the tassie trip. I have to get as much exercise as I can done in the next two weeks as I have Jorja and max coming to party with me for a week at the end of August so will be limited to walking.

I worked it out I will miss 3 boxing classes, 3 Zumba classes, probably do my body the world of good as a break every now and then is good!

I have free passes to the work pool so can squeeze a cheeky swim in on my lunch breaks or do a run on the days the kiddos go to childcare and I go to work :) its going to be a fun week.

I have banned myself from the Olympics for 2 nights and mornings as I was getting over tired, although I did like getting my washing on super early so I could hang it out before I went to work!

Well must go as I'm just waffling now x x Bee x x

A new love in my life!

Bee coz I...have tried to get a little less processed lately I have got into natural peanut butter, then after talking to my work mate I decided to try this combo spread, perfect spread thinly on toast or pita! It's a billion times yummier than the peanut butter!

It's higher in protein which is great and fat which is not so great so eat in moderation.

Tomorrow for lunch I'm going to try a thin layer with banana on wholemeal pita, my mouth is watering just imagining it.

Today was great in work, we laughed lots over very silly things, which hurt a bit as my abs were still sore from Boxing this morning.

Boxing was ace as usual!

Tomorrow if my knee feels ok, I may go for a jog or may not!

Off to bed now to watch more Olympics - I will have square eyes by next week! With big bags under them from to many late nights and early mornings.

Bye bye bee x x

Big moon

Bee coz I...left work a little late, the moon was well and truly on it's way up, it looked very big last night must have been a full moon!

It was home for a quick dinner - subway then off to Zumba, another great sesh, Jane came too, she has a dance background you can tell she does not look like a beginner at all!

I went to bed early and banned myself from the Olympics as I have boxing this morning and I'm getting a bit weary from late nights and early mornings watching the Olympics!

The swimming is starting soon so I'm going to get dressed for boxing and watch a few races before I go.

Incidental exercise

Bee coz I....has someone crash into my brick wall and drive off I got to spend Sunday morning in the rain moving and re stacking bricks. It was good exercise!

There were a couple of hundred bricks to move, most of the wall ended up on next doors garden so you can't see them all in the pic.

The blog has been playing up so hopefully it's fixed it's self now and the post goes up!

Well must race I'm off to boxing

Olympic breakfast

Bee coz I...am introducing apple back into my diet, I had a cracking idea to make a delish breakfast for while I am watching the Olympic opening ceremony. On went the slow cooker!

1 cup steel cut oats
3 cups of boiling water
1/2 small can of naturally sweetened apple pie filling
1 tablespoon of ginger infused honey
1 shake of cinnamon

Bung in the slow cooker before bedtime (on low) and whack it in the bowl in the morning and eat!

I add 1/2 teaspoon of chia seeds and linseed, sunflower and almond meal (LSA)

Now back to the opening ceremony

3kg to go!

Bee coz I....stood on the scales this morning i got a nice surprise 1.5kg loss.

After doing up my tight pants very easily yesterday I was curious to see what the scales said. I have ramped up boxing and been very strict on my food intake, plus I have only just has a little bit of carbs yesterday in the form of 6 rice based wafers (see pic).

It's also good to have the sugar cravings under control, now it's just fingers crossed as I introduce bread into my diet on Saturday that I don't react to it! Then it's tackling the fruit after that which I know is where the allergies will be! So far at least I know I can have prunes and a tiny bit of dried mango.

This pic was my morning tea at staff meeting the food is awesome and I eat too much every week so I came in with my own protein based morning tea (and my krill oil and vitamin D capsules - sustainably farmed)

Well I'm off to a big day in the city that includes a dinner, I had to say I was gluten free so that I can at least eat something I will just ignore the starchy veggies on my plate and take a protein snack for if I can't eat much of the food :)

Have a great day!

I love brown rice!

Bee coz I...hated brown rice when I first tried it, it surprises me now that I would pick it over white any day! What changed? My behavior did. No I didn't retrain my taste buds or anything exciting, I didn't make a commitment to the rice gods to only eat brown. I got lazy one day and bought a cup of microwave brown rice. 40 seconds in the microwave and bang yummy brown rice. It's a more expensive way of doing it but who cares, they also go in special every 8 weeks so I stock up.

Only problem is Billy loves these too and I am going through smoked tuna and brown rice and frozen veggies like I used to go through bread and peanut butter. It's much healthier for him so I don't mind.

Boxing was ace last night the instructor really mixed it up and we did more boxing than running this week so I was happy. I also partnered up with a lady called Jane and we were very well matched so it was good. I hope she comes next week too.

I stayed on for Zumba but was spent at the 3/4 mark and I was very unco but I stand by the fact that it helps with the soreness of boxing. Claire my awesome instructor is also happy I stay on and does not mind that I have lost it and do my "own groovy funky thing" her polite way of saying, just keep moving if you stuff up or can't do it :)

I had better get up for work byeee

Shoes glorious shoes

Bee coz I....was starting to get blisters from walking in my runners and sore legs from walking in 12yr old hike boots, something had to be done.

I popped into my favorite shoe shop called Active Feet. I showed them my hole ridden runners and the said they needed retiring, as I had warn them thin on the bottom. A few more runs or long walks and they would have gone for good.

A few turns on the treadmill and I was sorted for new runners, cross trainers and hike shoes (that can be warn all day).

They gave me a big discount maybe because I'm a loyal customer - got to be happy with that :)

Before I helped prop up the running shoe economy I squeezed in a lovely 7km walk around Birdsland with my friend Tracey C. As always (well in the last year at least) we talked, food, fun runs and training. Great company and I was surprised how far we went as the time flew!

Now it's off to bed to get lost of rest and recuperation before boxing and Zumba tomorrow.

Bee

Still on allergy diet - normal daily food diary will resume in 4 days.

Food glorious food!

Bee coz I...survived my two days detox, I am now into adding foods back in my diet - woo hoo.

I must admit for the first time in almost 10 months I have not felt itchy at all, I'm also a bit suspicious that my shampoo wasn't helping so after I have done the food thing I will switch back to my old shampoo and if the itch comes back I will know what that was all about. I will laugh if it is just the shampoo after all this food elimination lol

Anyway yesterday I got to make my first solid meal in 2 1/2 days, I was allowed two none green veg (green is always allowed) so I had tomato and mushroom and a little refined salt in the form of a low sugar dressing so I chose Worcester sauce and paprika - all good so far :) just for the record this whole meal is only 500cals! It was yum!

Went to a friends daughters play last night it was great but I was drooling watching people eat snacks and my friends daughter had to eat lots of sandwiches as part of her role and I could see they were peanut butter and was jealous lol

Still hanging for a bacon buttie - please don't let me react to bread!

Warning sunny weekend coming up!

Bee coz I....like to get out and about, I am super excited that my phone is telling me it's going to be a sunny weekend!

The biggest bonus is, my front lawn does not need mowing and the back is still a bit boggy to do! More time for walking. House work can be done at night!

It's also noticeably lighter this morning so running before work will get easier for when I start my training to run 10km, I have to wait one week after my cold went so that puts me in good time for when I finish my elimination/detox.

Body was battle weary from boxing but seems good enough for Zumba, will probably go for a walk today and tomorrow to make the most of some free vitamin D!

Happy days
(except I would kill for a bacon buttie)

Ding ding round two!

Bee coz I...am doing a detox and elimination diet (only time you will see me use this word) for the next 8 days, I won't be doing a daily food diet, that was the only bonus I could think of for only eating bland food and certain foods on certain days. Other than that life goes on as usual - lucky for me because of the amount of exercise I do I can still have protein, starting with steak, then pork, cheese, eggs last but not least fish. Then different veggies and fruit with it. I will let you know how I go and if I last!

Yesterday was a busy day I didn't stop until after Zumba, when I fell in to bed at 9pm.

This morning the alarm rudely woke me up at 5.15am to go to boxing for 6.00am. It was with Carl my favorite gym instructor and it was well paced and he showed us great technique.

Busy day in work, phones were wild but we were rewarded with a nice sky as we left for the day (see pic) I also negotiated to change my hrs at work on Monday's just so I can go to boxing - happy days - I love my boss!

Rest day!

Bee coz I...am a genius (some days) I have planned my exercise for the week around the new Punch Power classes.

So it was perfect timing for a rest day yesterday (tues) which was good news for my feeling slightly sorry for myself body.

I worked in the morning then spent the afternoon doing a few things on the to do list!

Fell into bed early and was out like a light! Unfortunately for me I dreamt I was running to catch a plane all night - probably because my legs are sore.

I have the new Zumba class tonight and Jane is coming :) happy days - I hope my legs and arms work by then - Bee

Express boxing class - not so express!

Bee coz I...thought boxing was a new express 30min class I threw my self full steam in to it, then when the clock went past the 30mins I started to worry - I peaked to early.

What was worse there was an odd number so I scored the instructor, it was brutal. It was like a 60 minute personal training session for free!

I just about survived boxing, then as I was leaving, the Zumba crowd talked me in to staying - boy my body is going to hate me tomorrow but love me in the long run!

I'm off to have a very hot shower and enjoy moving while I can.

Wild and windy

Bee coz I...love a good bimble, the weather does not deter me very often. So despite the fact that it was cold and very windy Jorja and I went on a little adventure.

We drove to Cranbourne Botanical Gardens and Jorja hopped in the Ergo carrier on my back and off we went. Jorja has been sick, the whole family has so she was not 100% but needed to get out as she had cabin fever. Usually she hops in and out of the carrier but today she just wanted to snuggle into my back and enjoy the ride.

We just headed off with no plan and I let Jorja choose every time we had two different ways we could go. It was nice. We clocked up 6.7km before Jorja started throwing hints about finding the ice cream shop.

The adventure finished with an ice cream and play at the park then I dropped her off home.

The rest of the day was spent pottering around home in my PJ's the perfect end to the weekend.

Pay back!

Bee coz I...had the food blow out yesterday, today I had to pay it back or work it off.

I went to Zumba, bright and early despite the late night and the need to take tissues with me for my almost gone head cold. It was a great class, I felt like I sweated off half my cold.

I came home and did a few things then headed off to the little lake (Birdsland) for a walk. When I got there I felt like a jog so I thought I would keep going with my return to jogging with early weeks of the couch to 5km program so that a week after my cold shifts I can start the training to do 10km run/jog.

I was flicking through the program on my iPhone then thought what the heck I'll just do a 30min run and see if I can do it, focusing just on stamina and form rather than distance. Surprisingly I survived and I didn't do to bad. I'm sure I have paid off those calories from yesterday.

Blow out!

Bee coz I...had a blow out today - of the food variety I will be going to Zumba tomorrow wether I am well or not. I shamelessly consumed a bag of beetroot, parsnip and sweet potato crisps/chips and a curly whirly - I'm not going to lie it was awesome.

Tonight I went out and had two small shandys, and bumped into my good friend Ange who insisted on kissing my face all night. Had a great time with Connie and her hubby Steve who did the last song of the night on Karaoke it was so funny everyone was singing.

Off to bed now after my busy day
Night night - Bee

B:diet shake
L:cheese and tomato sandwich
D:yoghurt and the food blow out listed above.

Crazy Days

Bee coz I....went to work today after two days off with a cold, I ran out of steam at about 3pm, I even considered having a coffee as I was so tired, I don't really drink tea or coffee. I muddled through the last two hours of work mostly because I did a few tasks that involved moving around.

I also had a delish lunch at work, far more successful than my breakfast on the run which caused me to be sick out my car window (rancid sustogen - purchased from an IGA store)

I raced home from work to take Billy for a new suit as he has lost 20kg's and his other one is to big (glad we checked a few days before his Yr 12 formal) he looked so handsome in it!

We had sushi for dinner then headed home to bath the dog and I trimmed the fur from around his eyes so he can see again.

Now I have jumped in bed as I was ready to go to bed at 3pm but lasted until 9.30pm so nighty night - Bee

B:don't ask 0 calories.
L: tuna and brown rice with rocket and snow peas, yoghurt and strawberries.
D:sushi then all natural peanut butter on toast.

They are growing!

Bee coz I...planted a load of broccoli ages ago that said harvest in 12 weeks (my arse) and at week 16 there was still only leaves I'm very excited to say that I'm definitely grown some of the yummy green stuff! Maybe it's 12 weeks from when you first see the bit you eat to when you eat it? Who knows but I can't wait!

I had a great dinner catch up with my friend Tracey C who has also been on a big health kick and is looking awesome, we have lost about the same amount of weight and are as addicted to exercise as each other, we talked about training, food and fun runs. I pointed out that two years ago we would never believe where we were now lol.

I'm still snotty so no late night walk in the cold with Jane for me tonight, I missed it but we are going to do Zumba next week instead of walking so that should be fun!

Nighty night peeps - bee

L: tuna salad

4.5kg to go!

Bee coz I...am still managing to eat well i am feeling very happy with how i am doing. The plan is limited/no treats for the next few weeks I am trying to get a bit of each food group in each day.

Got on the scales and I'm 1/2 kg down so it's 4.5kg to go before I start on the next goal.

Zumba was great tonight I'm getting better remembering the new songs and enjoying a few old songs that have come back.

My boss in work has designed a jogging plan to get me up to a 10km run in 10 weeks, not sure when I will start it as boxing starts next week too! I looked at it and told him I would try and I will give it 100%.

Well must go as I need to get an early night so I can run tomorrow ifmy legs are ok after Zumba.

Old friends

Bee coz i...had not seen my old high school buddy since she left the school in '88 I was so excited to catch up with her for a walk that I locked my car and house keys in the car, lucky I had grabbed my hike boots so she swung past and picked me up.

It was like we had not seen each other for a week not 24 years, it's like that with good friends and I'm lucky that I have such good friends in my life. I bet it's not 24 years until we catch up again!

It was a nice walk around the lake with just a little bit of puddle jumping. Then she dropped me of to Rod and Tracy's to get spare keys. I refused offers of a lift home and squeezed an extra little walk in.

Legs are good now.

Healthy taco's

Bee coz i....fancied Mexican, I whipped up these healthy mini taco's. They were delish and I probably could have eaten another few. I don't usually put rocket and spinach in but the combo really worked.

Woke up with crazy legs, put on some chinese herbal rub and my running pants for recovery and headed off to Zumba. Claire the instructor laughed when I told her my legs were killing and told me she had programmed lots of leg tracks. Great news is they are putting on another Zumba and boxing!

Later in the morning I went for a walk with the lake gang and carried Jorja on my back for most of the way. I had not realized that I had signed up for a personal training session with a 3yr old!

Theses were her instructions from her ergo carrier on my back...when I pull your ponytail run!

I must have jogged half the recovery walk! My favorite part was when she was making puffing and panting noises as it must have been so hard for her being jogged around. She also kept yelling...keep running we're winning.

The sun was out today and it was beautiful day.

Mexican standoff!

Bee coz I...did the Birdsland to Lysterfield walk today (50min pb) I got to have a Mexican standoff with a kangaroo.

The kangaroo was taller than me and he stood up on his back legs about 10meters down the track. I thought about putting my arm up above my head to make me look taller until I remembered that's what you do with emu's!

So there we were a Mexican standoff, I looked him right in the eyes and slowly moved my hands towards my pockets and reached for my iPhone camera - i won! that always works, off he jumped (camera shy)

My legs are dead - power walking 20km is not a good idea and I have a blister on my foot and sore but muscles. I'll have a nice bimble tomorrow to fix up my legs!

Bee
B:diet shake
L:feta and spinach sandwich and dried fruit
D:noodles - shared with max
S:cough lollies

On the road again!

Bee coz I....often have to squeeze my exercise in before work, in winter it is pitch black when I go out and hit the road.

I had been running in the dark at the duck park and bike track but I had a couple of near misses with bikes and one case of a spooky guy just standing watching, so I decided I had to do something different for winter. I am not supposed to run on concrete pavements but can run on roads so I get up extra early 5.30am-6am ish and the road in front on my house becomes a running track, there is more lighting than on the bike track and it's less isolated.

What about cars? Well I seem to live in an area with older people so the streets are fairly dead between 5-7am. I run towards the traffic so if and when I see a car I hop up on to the nature strip sometime I see the bin man but he knows I'm there as I wave to him (he is good looking for the record).

The pic shows how light it was when I finished my run this morning. It was very foggy but not so chilly.

Tonight I was invited out to my friend Andrea's birthday. I knew I was going so did not snack all day and kept my food intake down so I could enjoy my meal. I had my usual Bombay bliss. It's a wood fired thin pizza base with tandoori chicken breast, spinach and rita and I ask for less cheese - delish!

Happy birthday to my friend Andrea x x

Planing a walk tomorrow as I have the day off, fingers crosses the weather is kind.

Cucumber sandwiches

Bee coz I....have had a hankering for cucumber sandwiches I went out and got the ingredients so I can make them for work tomorrow, I even got white bread as I just don't think I could do it on brown or seeded! I will trade off for bran in the morning!

I just use thin slices of cucumber, cream cheese (phili) with white bread. No salt, pepper or butter)

Today was a fantastic day but again it rained before and after work! The long range forecast is for a nice weekend. I also have Friday off so don't hang your washing out as it will rain.

Good night on tv tonight so I'm off to bed to watch it - bee

B:toast
