Body language

Bee coz I...have family coming to visit, I am trying to keep the house clean all week so I don't have to spend Saturday cleaning.

Leo missed that memo!

Giggles!

Bee coz I....have suffered all my life with the giggles (a great thing to suffer from) I find way too many things funny and often start giggling and end up in a combo deal of crying, coughing and wheezing.

I can even have a fit of the giggles when I just think of something funny that has happened, which on more than one (100) occasion has made me look crazy.

They call me Mutely in work because once I get going that's what I sound like, it happens more if I'm tired, anxious or over excited. I spit water out, and way to many times liquid comes out my nose because someone makes me laugh while drinking - sherbet burns your nose (just so you know)

I genuinely find things funny even if it's stupid funny or a dad joke and even worse if it's predictable humor in movies, I'm laughing before the gag has even happened!

It's a bit like I have never grown out of the laugh reflex you have when you are a baby, like when Max laughs when I wiggle my eyebrows.

Too funny!

A special mention for Bella

This is a special post to say happy birthday to Bella Ringold who would be three today. Her family are doing amazing things to help the fight against Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and her dad speaks from the heart about Bella and his families journey at http://careforanabella.blogspot.com

Bella was my motivation for my health kick!

Drop by and pay them a visit, I'm sure their story will inspire you too!

Happy birthday Bella x x Bee

Lemons

Bee coz I... Bought two lemon trees four years ago and have only managed to score 1 lemon off it due to:
* children and dogs pulling them off to use as balls.
* storms.
* moving house.
* plague of locus.
I'm pretty excited to say I've got three beauties growing. They are the biggest strongest ones it has ever produced (thank you locus for your drastic pruning last year) I love lemons!

I'm still waiting for the broccoli to grow I just seen to have the leaves no stork or head, something may have gone wrong! Carrots and parsnips are coming along and I think I already told you that I lost my silverbeet and beetroot to possums weeing off the roof on to them!

In other exciting news for the day, pesto was on super special at the supermarket so I made pesto and pasta for myself for dinner, billy even had a taste (he usually refuses) and loved it and asked for some for school lunch - cheap and easy = happy me

In clumsy news today was one of those days, 1st I smacked my head on the door frame - really hard, then I dropped a knife on my foot and the handle landed on the base of my toe nail - sheesh that hurt, then I decided the universe was trying to tell me to go to bed early (where it is safe) and I stubbed my little toe on the corner of Max's pota cot - grrrrr I was glad to get into bed - bee

Budget cooking

Bee coz I...get paid monthly and sometimes all my bills fall in the one pay packet and my son has done a little to much texting I get creative with my meals.

Lucky for me even on my one wage 90% of the time I have enough to keep the ship on track so to speak, rent, petrol, bills, I get to be in the gym, buy takeaway 2 times per week and buy sushi for lunch at work every now and then.

On the 10% I have a menu plan that works well, if I could stick to it for more than 10 day I could save a fortune. I still buy a bit of meat for Billy and he still gets his normal food (with the odd beans on toast dinner thrown in) so don't be thinking he is starving! He has lost about 12kg but that is through healthy eating and exercise not starvation!! Things aren't that bad :p

This is my autumn money saver menu plan....
I make up a big slow cooker spicy lentil soup here is the recipe:

Spicy lentil soup
4cups of veggie stock (I use as natural as possible and low salt)
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
4 spring onions (including the green part) chopped
1 1/2 cup of red lentils
Chili paste (to taste) I teaspoon
Fresh herbs (I use basil as I grow my own)

Bung it all in the slow cooker on high for 5 hrs or low for about 8 hrs' add some fresh basil at the last minute and season to taste - that's it.I enjoy this for lunch (or sometimes dinner) with a nice piece of wholemeal bread.

Breakfasts are easy 2 weetabix with honey and light A2 milk (less processed)

Dinner or lunch if I swap it up for variety is brown rice, cherry tomatoes, spinach and tuna (lucky for me it was on special) and every second night I swap that for beans on toast or a boiled egg on toast.

I eat more rice bread that I normally would but I use brow so it is a bit better and fills you for longer!

I never starve I just get bored and miss my variety and freshness. But I don't complain as I know I am lucky that this is only 10% of my life not the other way around.

That's it for now, stay tuned for my pea whack soup next! I love autumn and winter cooking - Bee

Funny faces

Bee coz I....took Jorja to see the local steam train go over a local bridge we had a bit of hanging around time to kill. We busied ourselves by going for a little walk then taking photos of ourselves (one of Jorja's favorite things to do) she told me this was her funny tongue, I agree!

My hairdressing appointment went well but I had a huge headache after it from the perfume in the gel that was on my hair so I ended up having a quiet night in and a few panadol, then I just washed my hair to get rid of it.

Only went for a couple of small walks this weekend as the long work days last week caught up with me.

We are expecting nice weather this week so I will burn off some cals mowing (I know so exciting) and getting up to date with my washing.

In other slightly more exciting news, the police are sitting across the road in their car - I didn't do it - that's all I'm saying x x Bee x x

I just like the smell!

Bee coz I...like the smell of Vicks, sometimes I just put it on for no reason other than that! I have a jar on my desk in work and it's funny how many times I find myself unscrewing the lid for a whiff! I remember when I was younger even tasting a little bit to see if it tasted like it smelled - it does not and was not worth the slimy waxy feeling in my mouth.

Well the busy week finished up well with a night out on the town after work to farewell my Mucker Mick as he is leaving work :( I'll miss my Liverpool Football Club mate, Mick and his pal Bryce we're my two buddies at federation square the other night when we watched the FA Cup final.

I'm going to the hairdressers this morning so I will update later with the new doo look!

Bye for now bee x x

Angry but not for long!

Bee coz I...am mostly a happy person, when someone winds me up or P's me off I get angry and hurt, but lucky for me it only ever last a short while as I start feeling for the other person that they must be so unhappy to have done or said what ever p'ed me off, then I feel better for myself.

Some people take advantage of my forgiving nature they know that if they let me down it won't be long before I am over it, lucky I have thick skin.

The other day I read a blog where some lies were printed about our family publicly (I am proud to come from a very loving and giving family) I was very angry, but I re read the article a few times and realized that I felt sorry for the writer and if her readers read all her articles the truth is there on the page so it does not matter anyway.

Just because something is written on the Internet does not mean its true. It's sad that the writer believes it to be true and for that she needs my empathy not my anger.

That's all -bee

Red leaves and Tarmac.

Bee coz I...love Tarmac and I love red autumn leaves I quickly took this pic as I was darting across the road out side work, its not my best effort! It kind of made me sad to think that hundreds of cars would pass over it tonight and not see how beautiful it looked.

At least you guys have seen it!

Had a crazy night of odd dreams, to be honest I've had crazy dreams all week, I'm wondering if it's because I'm coming off all the medication for my lungs (which are much better) or if vitamin D messes with my head? Who knows - they are not bad dreams just odd.

I am also spending far to much time day dreaming about going to the snow, I love the snow, pity I'm a crap skier but I like to walk and toboggan in it - I must plan a trip up the mountains this winter.

Well I have to go find my Zumba gear as I have to try and make all my classes this week to make up for last week.

Have a good night peeps - bee

Some you win some you don't!

Bee coz I...am playing catch up here is a brief summary of my week so far...

Sat night we went to FED SQUARE and had the place to ourselves to watch the FA cup final, they had turned the big screams on just for us - talk about feeling important, even though we lost it was a good night.

Sunday was spent sleeping in after going to bed at 5.30am I slept until 10am then popped down the gym, caught up with Mucker that night but I fell asleep watching the movie as I was shattered.

Monday - Wednesday I have been running a leadership program for 26 students, it's a weeklong program and it's my fav program of the year so I'm having a blast.

In other news the dog has eaten Billy's prescription eczema cream so I called the vet and they said to observe him throughout the night (I checked him twice) and he is fine!

Internal conflict

Bee coz I....couldn't find a picture for this post, and could not possibly do a post without a picture, I have popped in one of the cave shots from my Easter camping trip. It's not the best as the flash does not work because it reflects of the water on the walls and it comes out crap. This cave is called the fairy cave - not hard to imagine why

Back to the post ...

Internal conflict is something I battle on a daily basis, the biggest battle of all is between the lazy side of my brain and the motivated side. Lucky for me the motivated side wins about 90% of the time (with the exception of house work then the odds are reversed)

I will share with you a few examples of how this works on a daily basis.

I lay in bed in the morning imagining ways to invent a space like toilet contraption that would operate a bit like a vacuum so that I would not have to get up and go to the toilet (lazy brain) then when I do get out of bed (often around 5.30 to 6am) I go to the loo then think nothing of putting a load of washing on then going for a 3km walk or run(motivated brain) then jump back into bed an hour later as if nothing has happened.

When I go to the shops I feel miffed if I have to park more than 50m away from the door and begrudge the walk to the door but 20 minutes later(fast shopper) I'm excited to be driving to the lake to walk 6.3km.

The brain is a very curious beast and as long as the motivated brain keeps winning I'll be happy to deal with the conflict - bee

Sometime bed wins

Bee coz I...went to the gym this morning and picked my first weights up since February, I was a little tired after work.

I went into my room to change into my walking gear and I just jumped into bed and instantly knew that's where I needed to be! Lucky it was 8pm so that's not to early lol

My arms are just feeling tired but tomorrow I just know they will let me know they are not happy :)

My friend Chris posted some pics tonight on Facebook of the food he has been eating while on holiday in Malaysia and Singapore, it make me hungry, I love looking at what people are eating, it makes me happy and I don't have to consume the calories they do.

Well as you can see I am already tucked up in bed, under my camping blanket so nighty night bee x x
