Day 90 - the end of the year!

Day 89 - we're going to the zoo!

Be coz I.... Was out playing cards last night I am just posting yesterday's post this morning. Had a fun night learning how to play poker - texas hold 'em style.

We took the kids to the zoo today and I got to see my two fav white lions, I think I have posted a pic of one of them early on in my blog? Anyway it was a fun day, then it was back for dinner.

They all had mash chips and gravy it smelt so good! I had rice paper rolls, I started of with four but Billy and Ian ate one each so I had crackers and dip spread thin to make up for it!

Day 88 - mushrooms!

Be coz I ....have been eating well all Christmas my treat to myself was to be found at the Taste of Tasmania - tempura mushrooms! Yum! I enjoyed every mouthful. Even did a 25 min jog in the morning to make room for all those mushies.
Had a great afternoon watching the boats come in from the Sydney to Hobart yacht race chatting with friends who are also in tassie for the holidays!

Day 87 - all kitted out!

Bee Coz I ....got stung three times by jellyfish on christmas day i decided to treat myself to a full body wetsuit. It is made of the new stretch material so it will be fine even when i lose more weight. The guy who helped me in the wetsuit factory chose one size down so that it would last me longer. The suits are $275 in the shops but its a family business that has their own shop front factory and if you buy it from them its only $190 - just shows you the mark up on some things.

 
Anyway back to jellyfish, i got stung on the top of my foot and back of my calves, boy it smarted for bit then was ok as the water was so cold it acted like ice! I cant wait to go snorkeling again. Ian took an underwater pic of me on christmas day, cant wait to see it, i think it will be funny.

well i am going to cook my dinner now so see you tomorrow - Bee

Day 86 - back to the land of Internet!

Bee coz I.... Just got back from Bruny this will be a quick post! Woke up this morning to the sound of hail and looked out the window and saw there was snow on the mountain range on the mainland on Tassie! I can't believe I was snorkeling one day and it was snowing the next! Squeezed in a jog today then whipped up a quick dinner. It will be an early night tonight and I will be glad to four walls again so I can't hear my dads snoring! I was sleeping in a suspended loft and it sounded like there was a sawmill down stairs!

Up date: after being in bed for an hour my Bro and his brother in law came over so i got up and played playstation with them until almost midnight!

Day 85 - one big hill with one big lighthouse

Bee coz I .... Walked up a huge hill with my new buddy Miss T. I got a picture to prove we were there.
When we got to the top Miss T. Said to me " that took a lot of breathing to get up the hill" and I agreed with her.
Learned to play Canasta and then we played songstar.

Day 84-Merry Christmas!

Bee coz I ....am strong willed this is probably the first Christmas that I did not feel sick from over eating. We did lots of snorkeling in the chilly waters of Bruny, played some trivia, ate, walked, I squeezed in a jog then we did karaoke into the wee hours. It was a great day! I enjoyed my strongbow.

Day 83 - mobile posting

Bee coz I .... Worked out how to post i can give little updates while on Bruny. We hit the island at about 1pm and had some lunch then headed to the accommodation, my sister in law and bro are staying with the inlaws a few houses down. The lads went kayaking, I went for a walk with the kids. Had a great night now going to bed so Santa will come! Ho ho ho x x Bee

Day 82 - last post for a few days - or maybe not!

Bee Coz I....am off to a small island for the next few days i will be missing in action, i don't have Internet access there and i don't know if i can blog from my iphone, I will try but just in case, i hope everyone has a very nice Christmas or holiday time. My days will be filled with walking, jogging and kayaking but not Christmas eating, as long as no one brings dry roasted peanuts I'll be fine, i have packed my esky full of healthy food and 2 drinks for Christmas day (strongbow sweet) plus lots of water! i also have two black current and licorice lollies as a treat on Christmas day. I will be sticking to my usual food menu and ignoring all the roasties and Christmas trimmings.

Today we christened the Wallace family kayak (we one of two). Billy went out off the beach where i went walking the other night. Its a bit of a walk down with the boat and a harder one back as its all up hill, we are going to buy some wheels when we get back from the trip. The name of the road that the beach is off is called SHARK POINT RD! hmmmmm does that mean anything???????

Day 81 - call me Forest Gump

Bee Coz I....wait for it....jogged 20 mins today without stopping i felt like i had won the London marathon, i even did a punch in the air when the sexy man on my iphone ap said "cooldown" signaling the end of the 20 min jog. About 30 seconds later i felt like i had run the London marathon!

The rest of the day was spent shopping, then later in the day we met up with my brother and his inlaws and went to the pub for dinner, my worst nightmare pub menu's soup of the day was pumpkin so i just had that! it was a bit creamy but i didn't eat it all.

Well i am having another early night, i could get used to all this sleep!

Day 80 - another awesome day

Bee Coz I....slept like a log last night i was full of energy today. Alex my beautiful nephew came over and played all afternoon, he did a little happy dance when he first saw me so i will just have to get the kid an extra Christmas prezzie for that (just joking).

Had a nice lunch and made a delish dinner with eggs from my brothers chickens, I love fresh eggs.

Then to top off an awesome day i went for a walk down the beach which is at the end of my mum and dads street. Beautiful veiws.

Day 79 - 6.5kgs to go

Bee Coz I....got up at 5am to go to Tassie, this will be a short post as i am very tired.

Had a bumpy flight down to Tas. Was great to see Mum at the airport, Dad was working. Dumped the bags at their place and had lunch, which included home grown cherries (yum) then went in to town to catch up with Ian as he had a meeting in the city, Sharon was in the town too, so we all had coffee (well i had water).

Then back to the house for the afternoon then this evening i went for a jog, did 5min warm up walk (which included chasing a puppy round the street and catching it as it had escaped from its house) then 2X8min walks with a 3 min recovery walk in the middle and 5 min cool down. It was awesome running on the road with country side all around and a view of the marshes and lagoon. It was a great run a bit hard but the frogs cheered me on!

Well all the fresh air has made me tired so night night - Bee

Day 78 - a busy day!

Bee Coz I....had to do some prezzie dropping off, do the housework, drop the dog off to a friends and pack, today was a little crazy. I was suppose to mow too but the lightning put a stop to that!

I squeezed in interval training today W5D1 C25K it was 5 min warm up followed by three lots of 5 mins jogging and 3 mins walking plus 5 cool down, I felt good jogging today and even found my mind wondering to other things instead of just repeating my mantra of  "left foot, right, foot your not going to die" I also felt like my grandad Bill jogging today, not that i was running like an old man, but because my eyes were running the whole way around due to the chilly wind blowing my way.

Day 77 - A killer class

Bee Coz I....enthusiastically went along to the gyms Mega class, billed as some Christmas fun and a mixed taster class (bit of this, bit of that a mix of all the group exercisers offered at the gym) i was sightly shocked that it was two hours of full on cardio with Body attack, Step regular and free style with a little bit of Jam and pump and zumba thrown in. It was a killer, i did every track, unlike some of my zumba mates who sat some out, even if i did look like a banana trying to figure out step moves, i just made my own up in the end and had fun!

After that we went on the waterslide, only 3 participants stayed and and fun with the instructors going down the slide, i was a bit chicken at first and was just going to watch but they all talked me into going down and it was great, i had loads of goes.

 
Then we had a great night at Rod and Tracy's doing the Christmas thing, Jorja had a blast and i got the best prezzie a self watering veggie patch box, as modeled by Jorja.

Great day around even though i know i wont be able to walk tomorrow as my arse muscles and legs are already saying " what did you do to us"

Day 76 - a great night

Bee Coz I....allowed myself to have one alcoholic drink tonight i chose to have a mixer with cola, now i am wide awake and its 3.16 am, i have a 9am Christmas mega class on at the gym tomorrow, or today i should say so i hope i can nod back off to sleep soon! Did an extra interval training at 6am this morning  yesterday so i could have something nice to eat, the food is great every year - except this one! so i did all that work for two tasteless mini spinach quiche and a mini meet pie, that i considered my dinner now i am starving.

I also duped out at lunch, i ordered a pita wrap with salad, feta and olives they should have called it tomato and lettuce wrap with 2 mm of feta and 2 olives - waste of $14.50

One the very bright side i had an awesome last day at work for a month, playing mini golf and lunching and parting with my work mates.

Day 75 - why wont the presents wrap themselves!

Bee Coz I....left the wrapping paper and sticky tape out next to the presents i was half hoping the Christmas elves would work some magic but alas they haven't so i guess I'll be wrapping them myself.

Had a busy day today, sorting out all the stuff that needs sorting before i have my month of work. Funny enough i booked this leave thinking i would get fit over the Christmas break, i booked it in July. Little did i know that i would have lost 14.5kg before i even started the leave. I lost 2kg's before i started on the 20kg and this blog.

I am very happy with what i have lost but i am determined not to cave over Christmas, it will be hard enough with no gym classes to keep losing but i will do interval training and walking to try and keep losing, i will be away for two weeks from Monday so my goal is to loose 1kg while i am away over Christmas.


We all had takeaway at lunch time today, everyone had burgers and chips but i was more than happy with my grilled flake (fish) and Greek Salad.

Tomorrow is the work Christmas party so i will be having one drink and one food treat, I'm hoping they have garlic prawn skewers again this year because that will be my one treat!

Day 74 - Chocolates in a bowl look good

Bee Coz I....am not a huge Chocolate fan i no longer want to eat it, but i do think Chocolates look good in a bowl, there is just something real Chrisstmasy about it!


I did an okay job mowing in the dark yesterday with just a few missed bits! ah well.

Had arvo tea in work today to celebrate myself and two co workers hitting 10 years in work, it was nice, we had a laugh remembering some of the funny things that have happened in work over the years.

Well I'm off for an early night!

Day 73 - three lessons learned

Bee Coz I....worked late tonight  decided to do interval training instead of water aerobics, i learned three things while training today...

1. Never ever drink a diet shake and decide to go interval training 10 mins later.
2. How to dodge mean looking dogs while training
3. I am very determined, i wanted to give in 7 mins in to the training but kept going.

When i finished i decided to treat myself to a big bottle of sparkling mineral water, there is nothing like the feel of cold bubbles in your mouth after you have sweated buckets!

When i finally got home it was about 8.30pm and the sun was mostly down, next doors had done his lawns and it was making mine look bad to i gave it a cheeky mow, we are not suppose to mow after 7pm here but there are no kids in the area and next doors said it would be fine. I was dark when i finished so it will be funny to see what it looks like tomorrow! i'll let you know.

Day 72 - The silly season

Bee Coz I....left the work Santa suit at the swimming club Xmas party, i have to get up early in the morning to go and pick it up so this will be another quick post, in fact my posts may get a little shorter as its getting busy with the silly season fast approaching!

In my job i get asked to lots of morning teas and Christmas parties. Avoiding food and drink has become much easier as time goes on. When i see all the yummy food i just think...would it be worth an extra session of interval training? answer is always no! sorted!

Day 71 - 7.5kg to go!

Bee Coz I....fell asleep early last night i woke up at 5am.

I was fed up lying in bed so i got up at 6am and went and did the dreaded week 4 Day One of the Couch to 5 km program (C25K) i survived it - what a victory. I was really worried about jogging for 3 and 5mins a couple of times in a row, i does not seem that long ago that i found it hard to jog 60 seconds! i really enjoyed the recovery walks in between the jogs.

update: fogot i weighed in, the scales are still moving 7.5kg to go! just think i was hoping to be 10kgs to go by xmas! i'm very happy!

Came home and put a roast in the slow cooker, did the house work then went back to the gym for pump and body balance.

Had Jorja this arvo, while Rod (Billy and Jorja's dad) took Billy out for a drive and Tracy (Jorja's mum) did some baking at home, Jorja decided to have a sleepathon so i watched TV and chilled out for the afternoon.


Had a nice surprise this evening when my bro skyped me, as they live in Tassie  don't get to see them much, so it was nice to catch up sort of face to face.

Day 69 - please dont rain!

Bee Coz I....have to wrap all my Christmas prezzies I'm going to make this a short one!

Great day in work today spent the afternoon checking out the window watching the rain clouds rolling over, wishing them to blow over so i could go do interval training.

Day 68 - are these my legs?

Bee Coz I .... upped my weights in Pump tonight, by the time i got to the end of Zumba which is after pump, i felt like i had someone elses legs on! my brain was saying left an my legs were going right! my brain was saying - pick up your feet, my legs were saying "we are on strike".

Had a nice hot shower when i got home and jumped into bed!

Day 67 - call me old fashioned

Bee Coz I....dance to my own drum beat in life i have never really worried about what i wear, if i like it, its in! It is not unusual for me to wear my slippers to the shops, or Gym if i am doing body balance as you take your shoes off anyway. They are not even my slippers. I think they were my mum or dads (they are men's- grandad slippers) and they left them behind when they moved to Tassie.

Talking of Tassie, one other thing i like to wear to body balance are my leg warmers, don't panic i only wear them for the relaxation at  the end as it gets really cold when you stop and lay still.

Busy day in work today then i went off to the opening of a friends new shop, it was very good to catch up with friends and i got some good bargains which was a bonus.

Well can't think of  anything else to say so I'll leave it at that!

Day 66 - Fun in the water

Bee Coz I....had deep water aerobics tonight i ate dinner as soon as i got home from work, it was very tasty.

Took the hound for a quick spin around the block then headed to the pool. We had a great laugh at the pool and had a very hot spa afterwards, someone must have cranked up the heater - it was ace! just what i needed.

Picked Billy up then home to bed, i had weired dreams all night last night so i am going to try and make up some sleep tonight.

Day 65 - a great day at work

Bee Coz I....love my job (i know i say that all the time) i really like going to work, i love the challenges it brings me. I work with a great team of people who inspire me, a really am lucky. I'm not sure if i have said this but i have just clocked up 10 years and got 12 weeks free leave, not bad ! I'm not sure when i will take it.

I also had fun at Zumba tonight but did not stay for Balance as i was told  by the Doc to cut back on two sessions over the week for a few weeks until i am fully recovered from the Shingles.

Day 64 - 8kg's to go! got to be very happy with that!

Bee Coz I....have 8 kg's left to go to get to my first goal of a 20kg loss, i thought i would write 8 ways in which i have impressed myself so far with my health kick:

1. I have eaten very healthy nutritious food for 64 days now.
2. I have got to Week 3 of the Couch to 5k's program (C25K) so i can jog for about 3 mins with breaks in between.
3. I have developed a love for exercise.
4. I have continued to exercise even when i was sick.
5. I have had to throw out loads of clothes (well i have given some to the op shops)
6. I have great blood pressure 100/60.
7. I have much more energy (unless i have done 3 gym classes in one day)
8. I have continued my journey solo despite my health kick Buddie putter their journey on hold from week 3.

Day 62 - out to dinner!

Bee Coz I....was meeting up with some girls for dinner i was anxious all day about eating out, i had looked at the menu so had already decided what i was going to order, a clear soup with chicken, veggies and vermicelli. I ate only a sandwich for lunch so that the meal out would be my main meal.

So while the group ordered a selection of starters and chicken dishes as mains (which all looked beautiful) i ordered my soup only, then the temptress waitress brought these giant prawn crackers to the table, it took a lot of will power to ignore the curry puffs, Rita bread and crackers while i waited for mains.Wine and soft drink was ordered, i stuck to the water.

Every ones mains started coming then my soup arrived, to my surprise the soup bowl was tiny and contained no more than 200mls of liquid with three small pieces of wafer thin chicken, four mushrooms (chopped = one mushroom at most) two snow peas and three pieces of dianned carrots, 2 pieces of broccoli and about 15 strands of vermicelli. I know because i was trying to make it last and i counted! I had even planned to walk to and from the restaurant to burn off those excess calories from eating out! i was starving after walking home so had a yoghurt! Every ones meal and drinks came to about $30 and mine was $6.90 so guess that was a bonus!

Day 61 - Freedom!

Bee Coz I....could, i went to Zumba, i did  interval training first then to Z. As usual it was a great class.
I also ate some cereal before i ate to keep my sugar levels up!

Day 60 - its begining to look a lot like christmas

Bee Coz I....am still unwell this is going to be another short post.

Did interval training last night, i could feel i was lacking energy but i got through it. Then came home and chillaxed.

Today i got one of my Christmas trees out, its the one i put up when i don't want to go overboard at Christmas.

Well don't think i will be walking tonight as its raining, but it still has 1 hr to clear up! then i will do body balance and that will be my day.

Day 59 - A sick day!

Bee Coz I....am sick i am off work for a few days with shingles. I am also not to do group fitness until Wednesday night but i am still ok to exercise solo so i will be doing interval training if i feel up to it!


Hung out with Leo all day and made a very nice lunch.

Nothing else to report so i wont waffle on!

Day 58 - a little treat

Bee Coz I....had Mucker come over this will be a short post.


I have been told i need to eat more or exercise less by a dietitian, my caloric intake is not enough, so i have decided to up the amount of healthy food i eat and eat more mushrooms and fish!

Had a little treat tonight to celebrate my 10kg's i had cointreau soaked strawberries, they were yum and i shared them with Mucker so i didn't eat to many!

Day 57 - 9.5kgs to go.

Bee Coz I....didn't do a proper interval training yesterday because of the voting and weather, i went this morning before pump and balance. Had a great day for stepping thing up, i ran round the whole track including the slight hill, it was definitely harder but a doable challenge! then i upped my weights in three pump  tracks, including triceps which are my weakness.

Went shopping got two new shorts and training pants and two new tops. 

oh and lost 1.5kgs, over the half way mark! whoo hoo

Day 56 - dont forget to vote!

Bee Coz I ….am going to the hair dressers today I always feel like going out! So just in case I do, I’m writing my blog early today.
Have not seen Connie all week, so I have just messaged her to see if she wants to go to body balance today – fingers crossed!
I have to re think my day today as I can’t do my interval jogging today in the usual place because it’s a polling both for the election – How rude! I will have to find a new spot if it stops raining in time, if not I will do it tomorrow.
Just got text, Connie can’t come as she has to sort some stuff, I reminded her to vote as you get a fine if you don’t vote, so very democratic!
I’m off for a shower as I stink after Zumba!

Day 55 - going to bed hungry ;0(

Bee Coz I....got home from the gym at 9pm, i am going to bed hungry, its just to late for me to eat much to it was half a slice of soy and linseed with a new thing on top, sweet potato and cashew dip spread thinly (delish!). Lucky for me i had a nice lunch.

Today in work i got a lot of little jobs done and a few big ones too, so it was a good day in work. I raced home put on my Zumba gear and headed out to the fundraiser, as anticipated it was fun, then Billy and his girlfriend came down to the gym for sign up and assessment.

I was glad to get home to chilax after a day that started with 6am body balance!

Day 54 - another quick one!

Bee Coz i....am stuffed its just a quick one tonight.

Awesome day today at work, then came home and took Billy and his girlfriend to join the gym.

Zumba was great, a big laugh and i cant wait for the fundraiser zumba tomorrow night, i have put in a request for the Robbie Williams better man as a cool down.

Day 53 - a testing day

Bee Coz I.... had training all day it was another day out of the office, another catered training with lots of tempting food, food filled with yummy calories and fat, lucky for me i had a can of tuna, diet yoghurt and figs in my bag so i just chose to avoid the buffet.

Today was also a testing day emotionally as a person from my past was at the training, this person was a very close friend who ran off with the first real love of my life, i was devo'ed at the time but over the years i realised that i was not so sad about losing him more that i felt i was betrayed by a friend and lost a good friend out of it all, the guy was a bit of a plonker anyway, they ended up marrying and having two cute kids together and having mutual friends our paths had crossed a number of times over the 19 years and that was fine, they recently separated which is sad.

Today there was one very awkward moment when she was talking to another participant about the break up and turned to me and referring to the fact that he is stressing her our by wanting to reconcile and she said "he is so annoying you can have him back now Barb". That kind of shocked me and those listening looked at me to see what my reaction would be, i just chuckled and said "you made your bed" chuckled again and walked out to get lunch. She sat next to me at lunch and we actually had a good laugh about old school days so i guess it got rid of the elephant in the room.

After the training i came home and was starving and thinking about my weird day and felt for the first time like i needed a junk fix, i knew it was just a response to an emotionally interesting day, so instead of fixing it all with food i called Mucker and had a chat then went for an interval training session, i felt so much better for that approach and glad to recognise that i have changed that behaviour, exercise is better than junk!

Had a great dinner of grilled fish and tabuli then went to bodybalance.

A sort of testing (which i passed lol ) but good day over all!

Day 52 - boiling down under

Bee Coz I....forgot to bring half my lunch to work today i was starving all day, i had a small bowl of veggie soup (i know soup on a 35oC day = mad!) and i was at a school all day running a program so i couldn't even nip to the shops in my lunch break, so my co worker and i went for a walk (i know soup and a walk on a 35oC day = crazy) but i had plenty of water so it was manageable.

Raced back from work and got sushi for dinner and will be off to the pool for deep water tonight, at least no one will be moaning tonight that the pool is to cold! 6am start tomorrow with pump, i hope they don't change it to step aerobics again tomorrow i will be fuming (well not really I'll just go to the gym or interval training)

Day 51 - just a quick one

Bee Coz I....worked late tonight i missed Zumba, i enjoyed working late because i got to catch up with loads of young people i have not seen for ages.

I went and did interval training before Body balance, it was great but still very warm, i got through the training much easier tonight. The light was going but it was beautiful, and a few birds watched me training.
